My name is Izak (it means to laugh or smile). I love spending time with all my girls.
When I first came to the States over 10 years ago, I had this dream where I would meet many affluent people and tell them about the untapped potential in Africa so that we could invest and help there. But the more I’ve lived in the States, the more I’m realizing that America can benefit from more “Africaness”. Don’t get me wrong. Africa is full of pain and suffering, disease and famine and needs support. But if you’ve ever had the privilege to travel there, you’d also see so many smiles and dancing and joy. It’s as if Africa has learnt how to celebrate through the pain. Or maybe because of it. And you probably know that growing old is painful and difficult. But maybe that shouldn’t stop you from deeply enjoying it. Could it be possible that you could do with a little African influence in your life?
Working for Amazon in various capacities, from running large operations to building diverse teams to lead the growth of Amazon, I’ve learnt the importance of personalities. It really does matter who works together, not just the skills they provide. I’ve built many small teams and some large organizations. Each time, seeing the individual and celebrating what makes them unique has made the biggest difference. You can expect the same from me and my team. We really get to know you and celebrate you.
