Companion Care Services

Our Companion Caregivers Provide a Helping Hand When You Need It

Loneliness and isolation are significant problems for seniors nationwide, and it’s no different here in the Greater Charlotte Area. A simple way to combat senior loneliness is by choosing companion care. CareBuilders at Home of the Greater Charlotte Area’s companion services provide seniors with both the extra help and the social interaction they need to stay healthy, happy, and mentally active.

Our companion caregivers help seniors and anyone else in need of assistance with their daily tasks. Our goal is to help you stay active and independent. We offer a wide range of companion care services to people in the Greater Charlotte Area, from help with errands and housekeeping to friendly chats.

Companion services include tasks like:

Everyone needs a friend to talk to, and for many seniors, that can be hard to come by. CareBuilders’ compassionate caregivers make the time to keep seniors and anyone else in their care mentally stimulated with engaging conversations and fun activities that keep their minds sharp.

During a home safety assessment, we’ll evaluate your home to identify and eliminate potential hazards. It may also include home improvement recommendations to help make your environment safer. Home safety assessments can be an important preventive measure, especially because falls are one of the most common sources of injury among the aging. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), falls among adults 65 and older caused over 34,000 deaths in 2019, making it the leading cause of injury death for that group. In 2019, the emergency department recorded 3 million visits for older adult falls.

Many elderly patients don’t realize that they’re taking medications incorrectly. For most, it can be hard to remember when or if a certain dose was taken. Because of this, multiple doses are taken or skipped altogether. An in-home healthcare provider can prevent this problem from occurring by acting as a memory aid. Depending on the needs of your loved one, they may provide a chart or a medication dispenser to ensure that the proper amount of medicine is being taken at the right time. If needed, your caregiver can provide medication to the patient to prevent any issues from occurring.

Many people enjoy getting out and about to go shopping, but seniors often struggle with making it from point A to point B. We’ll help you or a loved one with purchasing groceries and essential household items.

If you or a loved one can no longer drive or need help getting around, our companion caregivers will run errands with you and take you to appointments.

We’ll do basic household tasks, like helping with laundry and cleaning the kitchen, to keep your home spotless! Having a clean home to enjoy makes every day easier.

Maintaining a healthy diet is key to promoting good health and wellness. Our caregivers will cook well-balanced, delicious meals so that you or a loved one have something good to eat when you need it. We’ll always work with allergies and dietary restrictions in mind.

For those who have beloved pets or love keeping houseplants, our companion caregivers will treat your pets and plants with the same care we would our own. We’ll help keep your home a healthy, happy place for pets and plants to thrive.

Doing what you love is an essential part of a well-rounded lifestyle. Our caregivers will play games, help with hobbies, or do favorite crafts that brighten your day. We’re always up for a good time!

We’re trusted nationwide to help seniors age gracefully in the comfort of their own home.
