Keeping Clients and Caregivers Safe from COVID-19
Over the last few years, we’ve adjusted to a new reality as COVID-19 becomes a fact of life. CareBuilders at Home of Minnesota understands that we serve especially vulnerable communities, and we want our clients and caregivers alike to know that we take nothing more seriously than their health and safety.
Who is at higher risk?
According to the CDC, the following groups of people are at higher risk for severe COVID symptoms, even if they’re up-to-date on their vaccination:
As in-home care providers, we know that the vast majority of our Twin Cities Metro clients fall into one of these categories. Although the height of the pandemic has passed, we’re still following all CDC protocols and regulations for healthcare professionals, including mask usage. We encourage all of our caregivers to be vaccinated against COVID-19. You can rest assured that we’re always up-to-date on local transmission rates and will follow the appropriate procedures.
What symptoms should I be looking out for?
While the symptoms of COVID-19 tend to vary by person and by variant, the most common symptoms include:
If you experience any of these symptoms, we recommend taking an at-home COVID test and contacting your doctor immediately if you receive a positive result. There are treatments currently available, including Paxlovid™, that can make your symptoms less severe and shorten the duration of your illness. Since seniors and other compromised groups are at higher risk of severe symptoms, early treatment may save your life.
If you experience shortness of breath, persistent chest pain, new confusion, or bluish lips and face, go to the nearest emergency room.
What steps are you taking to keep CareBuilders clients and caregivers safe?
Over the last few years, we’ve taken care to actively protect our clients and staff. We feel that the best way to do this is through education on all things COVID: screening for symptoms, keeping up with good hygiene habits, maintaining a clean environment, and remaining up-to-date on the latest public health alerts. In addition, all of our caregivers receive regular training as needed or required by OSHA, state and local authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
At CareBuilders of Minnesota, your health and safety means the world to us. If you have any questions or concerns about our current COVID policy, please feel free to give us a call.
