Today we are continuing our Spring Fever event with some family friendly spring activities that older adults can participate in. I’m focusing on activities that are accessible to multiple mobility levels. I also want to say that we at CareBuilders support and care for people of all faiths. If you do not celebrate Easter specifically or are possibly in an interfaith family, these work as fun spring activities. They are not inherently religious.

No-Bake Oreo Truffles

There are tons of no-bake Oreo truffle recipes on Pinterest, most of them require four ingredients: cream cheese, Oreos, melting chocolate and food coloring. You can use white melting chocolate and food coloring. If you really want to get fancy, craft stores often have colored melting chocolate. Also if you happen to have a recent baking project gone wrong they can be made into these kinds of truffles. Don’t ask me how I know that.

No Mess Coloring

There are these great markers that are water only and when you color the corresponding color pad, it actually colors and leaves no mess. Check it out, Crayola has a line called Color Wonder. They are great, I personally used them when I was a kid a million years ago and I’m glad to see that they are still around.

Bunny-Related Crafts

There are plenty of bunny-related crafts online using materials you may have at home (toilet paper rolls, paper plates, paper bags, etc.) for crafts. This will of course be dependendent on your ability to use scissors, but you can have someone else cut if that is a concern. These do not have to be expensive at all. Pick something that incorporate what you or your family have on hand.

I can’t believe we are halfway through April! What’s your favorite family activity in the spring?
