As we age, our skin can change in numerous ways, for example. it can become more sensitive or dry. The Cleveland Clinic wrote about aging skin in this 2020 article “What You Need to Know About Aging Skin” covers some of the many ways that our skin can change as we age, like it being more brittle, and fragile.

Wear Sunscreen

A fundamental way that we can protect our skin is by wearing sunscreen every single day. I’ve also talked about wearing hats, sunglasses, and long sleeves and pants to protect your skin from the sun. This won’t reverse any changes your skin has gone through, but it will protect your skin going forward. And also drink lots of water.

Moisturize

Speaking of water, moisturize your skin! It may be drier or more fragile as you get older, so finding a good moisturizer is key. There are several great, budget-friendly skin care options, let me know down below if that’s something you want to see more of in a later post. You may notice that your skin is sensitive to fragrance, there are products that are fragrance-free.

Talk to a Dermatologist

If you have ongoing skin concerns, it’s a good idea to talk to a dermatologist about them. They can help advise you on how to care for your changing skin. If you don’t have a dermatologist, you can always ask your Primary Care Physician.
